Paddy Wright holds an honours BSc Degree in physics and chemistry from London University. He also holds a post graduate diploma in Chemical Engineering from University College Dublin. Paddy has additionally obtained a Certificate in Operational Competence from the British Examining and Registration Board in Occupational Hygiene (British
Occupational Hygiene Society).
He was the Irish technical expert (for many years) on the European Collaborative Action Steering committee on Indoor Air Quality and its Impact on Man.
Paddy has for many years lectured on emission monitoring for the Sligo, Institute of Technology, Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Protection and on Indoor Air Quality for the University College Dublin, BSc. in Occupational Safety and Health.
Paddy has long and varied experience, working in IIRS/Eolas/Forbairt (now Enterprise Ireland). He was part of the team established in IIRS in 1972 that was responsible for developing services in environmental monitoring and consultancy and in occupational hygiene. Working in this department Paddy was involved in carrying out work in environmental monitoring, occupational hygiene, preparation of IPC licence applications, environmental impact assessments and general environment consultancy to Governmental Departments, Local Authorities, and Industry. He was responsible for co-ordinating the environmental motoring programme. In addition, he set up and operated a consultancy service investigating indoor air quality/comfort problems.
In 1996 Paddy left Forbairt to set up Wright Environmental Services.
